7 March 2006 - Double Robben Island (Blouberg-Robben Island-Blouberg) - First woman - 14kms 8h26mins. Awarded the Peter Bales Cup for the "Swim of the Year" in recognition of this swim.

16 August 2006 - First English Channel attempt - aborted after 7 hours.
On returning home, I was awarded the City of Cape Town, Mayoral Award - Extraordinary Woman 2006 in recognition for my work on the Writing Stick Project and my swimming.

31 July 2007 - Second English Channel Attempt - aborted 10 kms from France - 21h02mins. Awarded the Frank Richards Endurance Award for the unsuccessful endurance swim of 2007by The Channel Swimming and Piloting Federation in England.

28 February 2008 - Attempted Triple Robben Island - Complete another Double - had to abort third leg due to strong winds and choppy seas.
13 March 2009 - 2nd attempt at Triple Robben Island - Completed another Double - had to abort third leg due to strong current which took a longer time to complete the second leg, thereby shortening daylight hours allowed for swimming.
